New Melle Sports & Recreation is a not for profit, independent youth Baseball / Softball / Football association providing organized sports for children 4 ½ through 18 years of age.  The NMSR was previously known as the New Melle Athletic Association.

Home ball games are played at  NMSR located on Hwy Z in New Melle. We are a charter member of the New Horizon Youth Sports League. NHYSL includes Lake St. Louis, River City, Dardenne, and Wentzville. Away games are played at their respective fields. Location maps are available from your coach and on this web site.

Regular scheduled games are typically played on weeknights beginning mid April and continue through July. Games generally start at 6:00 or 8:15 PM. Rainout games may be scheduled on a weekend. No league games are scheduled on holidays. No games are scheduled on the evening of the Daniel Boone Elementary open house. Team practice times are generally on Saturday or Sunday. T Ball and Pitching Machine play a 10 game season. All others play 12 games. If your child is a returning player and you wish to be on the same team as last year please contact your coach prior to signup.

NMSR is always in need of a few good people to manage and coach. Training is provided and the on the job experience is very rewarding. Umpires age 13 through adult are needed. Pay per game ranges from $10 to $30 depending on experience. Umpires must attend a clinic and pass a written test. If interested please sign up or talk to a board member.

  1. Required concession work

Working concessions is part of the parent responsibility when their child plays ball in New Melle. This policy is clearly stated on the parent information sheet provided at sign ups and well known as a requirement for many years. It is the managers responsibility to make sure that this requirement is met.

During the 2008 season the following plan will be in effect. Each team will be required to provide one (1) adult worker the day of each home game. (shifts may be split between adults)

If your game begins at 6:00PM, you must provide a worker at 8:00pm until close.

If your game begins at 8:15PM, you must provide a worker at 5:45PM until 8:00PM.

If you have a make up game on a Saturday you will be notified as to the time of your shift.

If your player is in T-Ball, concession work not required.

The penalty for failure to comply is FORFEITURE of the scheduled game. This severe penalty is necessary to insure that the concession stand is open and operational to serve all parents, players and spectators who visit our facility.
